I've worked with these guys on multiple realestate projects now. They're awesome! What they lack in size compared to some big firms, they make up for in brilliant, outside the box, precision. A special thanks to Erik! I would highly recommend this firm to friends and family.

If you need attorneys who will fight for you....look no further. I had a need to get out of a real estate partnership that went sour and needed to get out of a mortgage situation that was cumbersome (mostly emotional) to me. Through a referral from a friend I called TdD Attorneys at Law and got a same day initial appointment with Ted Disabato. Ted talked with me, not down to me, and suggested to do a Partition lawsuit. He explained, in detail what it meant, to my satisfaction. After hiring the firm, I was contacted by his associate attorney (Pitbull) Louis Teson. What a fine young man this guy is. He mediated an amicable agreement with my (former) ex partner and the rest is history. Thank you Ted, and thank you Louis. From the bottom of my heart!! P.S. Ted...you need to work on making Louis a Partner. 🙂John Whitlock

We have utilized Ted's services and expertise in property law in several capacities now--to sell one home and buy two, and for our estate planning. The process could not have been easier and he explained every step of the way. Ted is incredibly knowledgeable and approachable. You will leave feeling like every contingency has been thought of, and like you can rest easy that your loved ones will be taken care of. Highly recommend Ted.

We worked with Ted on various real estate (I'd highly recommend him over a typical realtor) and LLC-startup matters. Ted is very sharp, extremely assertive, personable, and trustworthy. TdB will be our first call for any future legal needs.

What Is an Estate Plan?

Estate plans are a collection of documents that outline how a person wants his or her property handled after he or she dies. These documents often include a last will and testament, trusts, and a power of attorney, which entrusts an individual with certain decision-making abilities if he or she becomes incapacitated.

After a person dies, his or her estate will go into probate. During this process, a personal representative is appointed to disperse assets and resolve any outstanding debts. If any interested parties disagree with how the estate is being handled or the terms of the will or trust, they have the right to pursue litigation.

Common Types of Estate Disputes in Missouri

Many disputes may arise during the administration of an estate, including but not limited to the following:

  • Will Contests: A party may believe that a will is not legally valid or that the deceased created the document under coercion. The party would have the right to file a will contest if he or she stands to benefit from a change in the will.
  • Power of Attorney Litigation: Sometimes, power-of-attorney privileges are abused by the person named in the document. If this situation arises, your attorney can help you take action and remove these powers from the party in question.
  • Trust and Trustee Disputes: Trusts are instruments that hold assets for the benefit of a beneficiary. Sometimes, people disagree with how the trust is being administered, believe that the trust is mismanaged, or want to terminate the trust altogether. In this situation, litigation is necessary.

At TdD Attorneys at Law LLC, our firm has experience handling all types of estate disputes. Whether you want to change the terms of a document or defend your interests, trust our lawyers to represent your side of the story.
